Pork Chops with Apples and Beans

These flavors go great together. Classic combination.

Ingredients

  • pork chops, 4 oz per person
  • salt/pepper or creole seasoning
  • oil or butter
  • cinnamon
  • apples, 4 large
  • green beans, 1 lb

Preparation

  1. Preheat a pan with a lid on medium high heat. Season your pork chops with salt and pepper, or some creole seasoning, put a tablespoon of cooking oil in the hot pan, and sear the pork chops. Let them sear til crisp and slightly browned, then turn them over
  2. Peel and cut apples, fry in butter (or oil), then cover and let them steam in their own juices on low heat while the pork chops cook.
  3. In the meantime, put an inch of salted water into a sauce pan, boil it, and toss in the washed/snapped green beans and cover. These will cook in just about 3-5 minutes like this, so do this right before serving time.
  4. If you're feeling particularly indulgent, whip up a batch of biscuits or cornbread to accompany this meal.
  5. (* To keep this a lower carb meal, go light on the cooked apples. About a 1/2 c. serving will be roughly a carb serving, aka 15 g. carbs.)
