Roast Asparagus

Roast asparagus is an easy accompaniment to a variety of hearty main dishes. Roasting intensifies flavor and results in a firmer texture than traditional waterlogged boiled or even steamed asparagus.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 bunch asparagus

Preparation

  1. Wash, dry, and trim the asparagus
  2. Arrange stalks on a sheet pan
  3. Coat with oil, season with salt and pepper
  4. Broil at 4" for 4-5 minutes, or until the stalks shrivel and just begin to char
