Tangy Kohlrabi with Ham Steaks
Ingredients
- chicken stock (1 c.)
- butter
- ham steaks
- crusty artisan bread (optional)
- garlic
- lemon
- kohlrabi
Preparation
Remove the stems of the kohlrabi, saving the greens (minus the thick interior stems).
Peel the bulbs, then dice.
Saute the diced kohlrabi in butter, with 2 cloves of minced garlic. Then add the juice of one lemon, plus the chicken stock, salt/pepper.
Cover and simmer until kohlrabi is tender, about 15-20 minutes. In the last 5-10 minutes, add the kohlrabi greens.
In the meantime, sear the ham steaks in another pan, to heat through and carmelize.
Serve piping hot, with some crusty artisan bread.
